It is the plight of many single folks these days. Particularly those who venture into the online dating world. You show up for the first "in-person" meeting and what you saw online is not what you now see. I believe the phrase "catfish" came out of this but have no idea (nor the inclination to research) what that actually means. Suffice it to say, nobody likes being duped. Today we're going to touch on the "touching up" of photos in your real estate listing. There's an appropriate amount of "nip and tuck" you are allowed to do before it becomes nefarious and sneaky. (Oooh the scandal!) Let's dig in.

One of the safer and appropriate ways you can enhance your photos is with light touches to the lawn and landscaping. Covering brown patches in the lawn and even hiding an unsightly pile of leave...

I'm guessing you can see my smile from where you're sitting. OK, I'm not THAT excited about spring cleaning, but I'm not NOT excited. To be fair (for my Letterkenny friends) it's not so much that I love cleaning. It is mostly the fact that we can open the windows and doors and refresh the stale air we have been stuck with all winter. Today I'd like to talk a bit about some of the cleaning tasks that are better left to the pros. Just like roofing, sheetrock and insulation when building a home; these tasks are "possible" for you and I but will have a much better result if we let the smarty-pantses do what they do best.

First out of the gate is upholstery. We recently had a guest stay...

For the first time in my life I could have my vehicle "under cover" during the more icky weather patterns we experience. As part of that design, as well as a desire to have plenty of natural light down there, the ceilings were nearly 11 feet tall. This was also critically important for the beer pong tournament we had down there for my 40th birthday! (Thanks again to my dad for playing the role of referee!)

In many real estate articles the advice given is about making a room look bigger. Cramming oneself into a closet, standing on a chair or outside of the room itself and arranging furniture "just so" are all great ways to accentuate a room's visible area. But what about the ceiling...

I'm visiting some friends in Colorado this week. I would have written today's article sooner, but I was busy shoveling! Fort Collins got another 4 inches of the white stuff (and yes, it IS April 30th as I write this!). Turns out Colorado's weather is just as persnickety as New Hampshire. That said, I love the snow and it will be more seasonable soon enough. I mention the weather because last weekend I was out trimming some wayward bushes and mowing the lawn.

One of my favorite things to do in the spring, as you may have assumed, is tidying up the yard. As I was mowing and raking I was reminded of a parable I heard eons ago. The gist of it was that god had provided us with plants that could grow in almost any soil, provided food for us and other animals and needed no maintenance. In response...
